Robert L. Vance is a member of the firm whose practice focuses primarily on litigation. He handles a broad range of litigation matters, including product liability, commercial litigation, personal injury, environmental tort, workers’ compensation, and general tort litigation. Mr. Vance has represented clients in Tennessee State courts and in federal courts, both at the trial and appellate levels. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Rising Stars of the Mid-South Super Lawyers in the field of business litigation.
Mr. Vance was born in Oxford, Mississippi and raised in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1998 with a B.A. in English. Mr. Vance received his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2001, graduating cum laude. He completed the Advocacy Concentration and was active in the UT Legal Clinic while in law school. Mr. Vance is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He was admitted to practice law in 2001.
Mr. Vance is a member of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar Association, where he serves on the Fee Dispute Resolution and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committees. He is a co-editor of the Tennessee Section of the Tort Law Desk Reference, a nationally distributed annual review of each state’s tort law.
