M. Denise Moretz

M. Denise Moretz is a member in the firm. Most of her practice involves the defense of product liability and toxic tort litigation. She has extensive trial and appellate experience.

Denise Moretz graduated from the University of Tennessee with honors in 1980 with a B.A. in political science. Ms. Moretz received her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1983. She is a member of the bar of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Moretz was President of the Knoxville Bar Association in 2003. She also served the Knoxville Bar Association as Past President in 2004, President-Elect in 2002, as Secretary in 2000 and 2001, and as a member of the Professionalism, Fee Dispute and Membership Services Committees. She was a Barrister Member of the Hamilton Burnett Inn of Court from 1991 to 1994. Ms. Moretz is a member of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations as well as the Defense Research Institute.

Ms. Moretz is actively involved in the community and she is a member of the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2003. She is also on the Board of Leadership Knoxville and she is on the Board of Directors of AAA of East Tennessee. She is also a member of the Executive Women’s Association.
